What would a good price/offer to make will be for a CPO 2009 C2S Coupe 20k miles
Hi Guys, thank you very much for everybodys feedback, after posting here I have expanded my search to a national search instead of just OC and LA, and last night I found the perfect car I'm looking for in Louisana; being that said, its a CPO 2009 C2S with 20K miles on it, for some reason I might be crazy or something, last night the price said $67k, I just checked right now as Im typing this up and now the price says $75k, I'm shooting them an email asking them what happened to the price, but anyways I have a few questions:
1. since its a CPO, clear carfax (1 owner, lease type), should I worry about any mechanical problems, should I worry about flying out there to test drive the car? I'm planning to ship, not drive it back to socal.
2. Can anybody recommend me a good shipping company and an estimate ?
3. what should be a good offer to make on this CPO 2009 c2s coupe with 20k miles, manual trans., Sport chrome pkg, bose high end sound system, Adaptive sport seats, Nav, bluetooth.
Thank you in advance for any possible feedback.

70K. A real CPO would have the 20K~24K (I forget the interval) mile service accomplished first. That's a grand right there. I would think Porsche would have a new set of tires installed too ($1500+), preferably Michelin PS2 or Super Sports.
I purchased my first 997S sight unseen from a Chicago Porsche dealer and it was a great experience. They shipped it at my expense to Vegas. I think it was $1000.

I also think that around 70k is what you should offer. When I was looking a few months ago, 09 pdk C2S cars with 10k miles or less were going for 80 to 85k. I guess you could start at 65k and work your way up.
My car was shipped from long island to vegas via a plycar enclosed trailer.
I bought my car unseen. But there was less than 1,200 miles on the car and the dealership kept it inside and not in the used car lot. The salesman also said that if upon arrival that it wasn't flawless I could return it.

IMO I can t bring myself to buy a car unseen or driven(unless maybe it had 1200 miles)... Sounds like I got the same car and don t know the option difference.. I can tell you the price should be somewhere between the two numbers they gave you.. Start low , you can always go up. I wouldn t go above $72 .
hakaida,
I was trying to reply to your pm but since I'm new I cant at this moment, Thanks for that tip man about doing PPI, I thought a PPI wasnt necessary to do since its a CPO car. any thoughts?

With my car I felt it was unneeded as it was practically new, but I think you should definitely get a PPI done for a car thats 3 years old and has 20k miles. And see if anyone can look at it for you.
I think that $75K is high. I would start at $68K and be willing to go to $70K. Being it is CPO I would not worry about mechanicals as much. If it is a stick, don't forget the DME readout. I would be more concerned about cosmetics in and out of the car to make sure it does not look neglected and was just given a quick detail.
See if you can find a local member to stop by the dealership with advance notice to give the car a good once over and also to check it out on a lift for any undercarriage scrapes. They could take a ton of pictures of use FaceTime to actually show it to you live - so to speak.
Good luck with the purchase.

My question would be... why would you need a PPI if the car is CPO? Porsche already went over the car, if it doesn't meet their standards, it can't be Certified. They also do the latest service and any recalls that are needed.
So, going back to one of my original questions, is a PPI required/recommend? even though its a CPO car?? like bokchoys says, isnt Porsche supposedly already inspection the car to make it CPO?
Dont be fooled by a dealers "ppi" or "cpo inspection" get a REAL PPI from an independent mechanic!!!!! I've worked in the car business...any car that "looks" good with the right miles will get certified, dealers add a huge premium to the price once they do that!
So, I should get the PPI done by calling another (nearest) Porsche dealership to the one where the car I want is located right?? or by independent mechanic you mean an independent Porsche Specialist shop?? or either one are good choices??
hi everybody,
i wanted to do an update on my initial post and hear some advise please, so I talked to the dealership, they told me the price on the car was 67k, asked him whats the lowest they are willing to go, they said 67k -_- , but from reading the previous posts, it seems that 67k is a good price?? then asked him about interest rates based on a 720+ fico, they said 3.9% for 60months or 4.9% on 72 months, I thought those rates were too high since I think I've seen the lowest as 1.99% for 60 months on recent purchases these last few months, any thoughts??

Agreed. I was talking to my dealership's Finance Manager yesterday, and she said that PFS tends to be a little higher than some other options. She said most of their buyers who don't use PFS or have their own financing lined up go with either US Bank or Chase. In my past experience, it seems like credit unions have ended up with the best rate vs. the big banks.
Logix (formerly Lockheed) is currently at 1.95% for 60 months. Very good rate.
