Where is the PSE relay / relay board on 997 C4S convertible?
Guys is anyone on this ultra technical forum able to help?
I looked above the fuse board & I have a little tray that is horizontal, with the relays in facing up, that is almost impossible to reach. It has 5x relays in it & they are all small brown ones without porsche part numbers on. My car is a 997 C4S convertible - can anyone help!?
I'm after the PSE relay, to do the cutout mod on, could it be on relay board 2 behind the seats? I'm wondering if the coupe & cab are different as the cab has a realy board in the back that mainly controlls the roof mech?

I'm not sure what your trying to do, but if you are trying to have PSE on loud all the time you need to disconnect the module in the "trunk" on top of the engine. I'm not sure what relay you are looking for.

Hi, I don't want it on loud the whole time it is mega annoying on the motorway... there is a relay that controlls whether the flaps are open or not in the PSE. THe relay can be removed & modified so it doesn't cut out between 30-50mph. I can't locate the relay though! See attached link:

I'm not 100% sure but I think on the 996 the Pse did not go though the DME as the 997 does. Im currently in the process of retrofitting PSE controls on my 997 and can't find any documentation about a relay. For 997 people have been wiring the solenoid to a button and bypassing the DME all together. Press the button PSE is on until you press the button again to turn it off.
Hope this helps

Search over on renntech and rennlist if you haven't found anything here. Here are a couple links to get you started.

997.1 & .2 PSE does not have a relay but rather a vacuum solenoid that enables vacuum to operate the muffler bypass valves. If it's factory installed the DME controls it to comply w/ German noise laws. Most guys just install a simple toggle or push button switch that provides 12 volts (picked off a switched 12 volt source) to the solenoid. This allows the 'driver' to go from 'quiet' to 'loud' mode and vice-versa with a flip of a switch.
I've done a toggle switch approach in the ashtray module and also a dash panel implementation that mimics the look & feel of the 997 switch panel. The hard part is snaking the wiring through the grommet that goes from the cabin to the motor compartment. The wiring goes under the carpet, under the rear seat and behind rear passenger side interior panel.
There are plenty of PSE threads in this forum as well as the others. Just do a search w/ the keyword 'PSE' and you'll find lots of info.
