programing car to know there is no spoiler

I called the porsche dealer and they said it would be 212 to reprogram my 997 to not having a spoiler because i put the gt3 spoiler on. Does that sound right or to high? said it would take like an hour or so? seems kinda off to me

Takes all of 5 mins to do. Find someone nearby with access to Durametric Pro and buy them a six pack to do it.

Glad to see you in San Antonio. I'd love to see your car sometime. There's a Coffee & Rides meet every last Saturday of each month and you might be able to find someone there to do it, or at least find someone who can. It's a pretty big meet with cars of all types. I normally go but there's a PCA tour up to Hill Country this Saturday and I'll miss it.

I'd love to see your car sometime.

That's terrific - I'm looking forward to it.

The Ruf reps are pretty good, although heavy like the real deal, albeit they're supposed to be a little lighter - still heavy. Nonetheless, I really like them and the quality is pretty good - no complaints. I went with 295s given they're Turbo offsets but I can run 305s - that'll be my next rear set.

Ray at ROTtec, who I bought them from is great to deal with.

Here's also the link to the Coffee & Rides:

http://www.coffeeandrides.com/index2.htm

Just in case you don't already have the flyer I copied/pasted the text below.

Event date: SATURDAY, 27 October 2012
Meeting place: The Home Depot parking lot at the corner of Route 46, west and I-10 in Boerne

Meeting time: 9:15 – 9:45 am
Departure time: 10:00 am promptly to stay on schedule
Lunch: 11:30 am – 12:00
(approximately. Depends on drive time)
Cost for lunch: $10.00 per person.

ALL PROCEEDS DONATED TO THE LONGHORN REGION, PCA
Lunch menu: BBQ BRISKET PLATE
Mountain Drive: 1:00 pm
Drive completion time: 3:00 pm
Return to Boerne or your preferred route: 3:00 pm

Bob Caran, owner of the Frio Fun Vacation Resort and longtime Longhorn Region member, has invited club members out to the beautiful Concan area for a luncheon and fall drive through the Hill country.

Bob or his wife will meet us in the parking lot of the Home Depot and leisurely lead the pack through the hills and on into Concan. There, Frio Fun will sponsor a fun pit stop lunch and a place to relax for a while. Bob also plans a trolley ride around the river areas of Concan. After that, Bob plans a drive up through the mountainous hill country north of Leakey and Camp Wood along stunning Route 336 & Route 335 and back to Leakey. From Leakey, everyone can return home via his or her preferred route.

Please RSVP to Ron McAtee so I can inform Bob as to how many plan to attend. You can pay Bob for your meal(s) when you arrive in Concan.

As usual, there is no alcohol or drugs of any kind allowed during any moving event. The event is considered completed when returning to Leakey.
Regrets on thread jacking your post. I'm looking forward to meeting you and seeing your machine.

I'll PM my cell number.

Can't be done with a durametric, needs the piwis to do the fixed spoiler coding.

That's bogus. They should do it for free. It takes freaking 5 minutes. My dealer did it gratis. Instructions in multiple threads, but if you need reference, see my thread here.

My dealer did for free as well. Just drive in and ask the service person....that is who did mine. Took less than a minute.

The wire harness I beleive is around $69, but I can't remember....It was less than $100.

Are you sure on this? Thought I saw an option under coding to program the wing to "fixed". Needs the pro version cable to enable coding, not the enthusist cable.
