C4S winter tyres question
Damn.....I just got a new winter rim/tire package from Damon at TireRack after not seeing anything in Chicago after several weeks of watching eBay and CL.
End up with 17s.........but A/S tires vs. snows. Nobody makes the right size in 17s this year contrary to what the tire catalogs show. Was trying to figure out the best compromise for the potholes and winter conditions. Ended up with BFG g-Force Super Sport A/S in 255/45R17 and 215/50R17. Pretty good reviews on the tire for winter use. I realize dedicated snows would have been better but more sidewall has a lot of value also. Since I have AWD I should be OK. For a C2 I would have got 18s and snows.
Car looks OK. Takes the bumps better.

@Aroby:
I am interested in your Winter set-up you've mentioned. Is it still available? If yes, please PM me specs and price. I can't PM you as I haven't had enough posts yet.
PS I'm local to Chicago as well so I could come by and pick them up

That's too bad. I've had these on CL for 3-4 weeks now. I think the rears would be too wide for the C2S. Yours look great.
I've had mine on for a few weeks now (used twice) but unfortunately the temperature is still too high (~12deg C) so not enjoying them at all!
Should be going skiing this weekend, so hopefully will get to test them properly then

the 19" front and rear Nokian Winter (WR) tires are working out great.
Drove when the temp was 65* degrees F, and could tell they were slightly loose and not really for aggressive summer driving weather, had to find out on my own! Then the temp got down to 40* degrees F and these were totally different tires. Could feel the grip and when it started to rain these were even more confidence inspiring. Still not the Summer grip of the OEM Michelins....but I feel much better during the cold temps and lousy weather. It's like a badge of honor driving in lousy weather and having a Dirty car....plus I rather enjoy detailing etc....drive it like you stole it,......even in Winter!!!
