"You're an A*&hole. Look at the car your drive."
Brakes? These things have brakes? ... I have far fewer close encounters in the 911 than anything else I drive. People (for the most part) move over and get completely out of the way and let me go by. Besides, if someone is behind me I couldn't care less what he/she is doing. They are history.
When I was 21 and just graduated college I bought a new 1963 Corvette. My buddy who had a GTO and I were big on giving a holes Jam Jobs. I learned my lesson when I gave a jam job to a semi because I thought he was following too close. Well after the jam job he caught up to me because of traffic and ran me off the road. I barely got out in once piece. I have not given a jam job since.

Here's how it works... You drive a Porsche.
You touch the horn... you're an a$$hole.
You signal and merge... you're and a$$hole.
You blink your headlights at slower traffic... You're an a$$hole.
You go speed limit +10... you're an a$$hole.
You hold up traffic for pedestrians in the crosswalk... guess what, you're still an a$$hole.
It may seem a heavy cross to bear, but the price is well worth it.
Just remain calm and benevolent regardless of who thinks you're an a$$hole. Have mercy because they're probably driving a prius or minivan.

When driving a 911 you notice 2 types of people:
A. People who give you thumbs up and are excited to see a 911.
B. Haters who mean mug and have a stare frown at your 911.
I was driving behind a minivan in the fast lane & the guy didn't move over. I downshifted and sped past him. ( I also had muffler delete) At the next light as he's turning right he yells out " Big fuccckkking deal" ...couldn't help to laugh because the guy had no nuts since he waited until he was turning to yell at me.

I have a minivan and I also drive a 997tt. Sometimes when I thought I was driving a turbo when in fact I was driving a van and vice versa. Cops here are cruel. A van is goin 10 over and porsche also doing 10 over, cops most likely to flag down the Porsche. Go figure.

It is just some of the attention you get if you choose to purchase a car. Sad, but it is true.
My reaction in any of those incidents it to laugh in their face.
Everyone expects some "heated exchange" of words or gestures.
When you laugh at them that totally throws them off....

I drive a 2002 Boxster and at a DE this year the guy next to me (in a Turbo) asks me if my car is new
I agree ... It s the age old attitude of Jealousy .
Conversely, the other day I was driving and this kid (10?) was literally hanging out of the window staring at my car. He was so excited and his mom kept trying to get him to sit down and he just kept turning around and sticking his head out. She eventually pulled over and let me pass so he didn't fall out of the window.
Every state has those laws/statues/regulations and those signs. The problem is that the law enforcement community has no motivation to pull drivers over who are jamming up the left lane.
