"You're an A*&hole. Look at the car your drive."
Still, it's a real joy to swing into a parking spot, gracefully lift my lanky and elegant body out of the driver seat, neatly close that door and walk away without looking back. I do all of them except one.
Maybe in AR but he is from CA where there is no such thing. They are all legal there...
Thats a stupid idea. What will likely happen is you will get rear-ended and then have a mashed up car. How does that help you exactly?
Especially up here in PNW. They really have no clue and will slam their car into you. I have had multiple close calls during my afternoon commute!
That has to be one of the top ten dumbest "insults" I've ever heard. That's like walking up to a guy who's dating a supermodel and saying "you're a loser, look at the kind of girl you're banging".. What a dumbass.
I think it's an interesting question because I am very in tune when I drive and I notice everything. And I use my horn. Often I'm amazed at how every car will be in the same lane when the other lanes are open or how people are so absent minded when they drive. My girlfriend says most drivers are in a restful daydream during their commute.
Not me, I'm watching pole positions at the light. So I like an engaging car to drive because I am engaged when I drive. So it might just be that the 95% of the drivers who are daydreamers who absentmindedly careen there vehicles in and out of lanes without thinking, do view those that are engaged and actively aware of the road as a--holes. And we drive the cars we do because we are engaged and actively aware drivers, therefore to the mindless daydreaming masses we do come off as a--holes. And they come off to us as dumbsh--ts.

I am with you Don. If you are not attentive while driving, I do not want to be driving behind you , next to your nor in front of you . I do not want to be anywhere near you at any time. Interestingly, there seem to be "classes of drivers" that seem to be driving certain " classes" of cars, typically very safe cars as they feel they need them( - Volvo - Merc's - Saab and vans of course. did I mention Duracel cars?)) So as a default, I won't share any road space with you if I can help it. But.. that's just me.

We know the people also - "I only check my phone while stopped at a light"
WE KNOW! - we see you still there 5 minutes after the light turned green.
Thank you both, for introducing sense in a world absent from it (making it uncommon).
Nor was his bit on cruise control - "Yeah, because it's really f'ckin hard to do this!" (holds his foot at an angle, mimicking somebody with their foot on the throttle)
People CANNOT hold a single speed. Too much evidence to the contrary. If we are on the same stretch of road, we should only meet once (traffic lights withstanding). If you are traveling faster than me, I should yield (stay in left lane), and you should pass, and continue on your way. If I catch you cruising the same speed, repeatedly, then you slow me down, because of your failure to yield, you messed up. I have no problem with people that want to drive faster than me (I don't speed excessively), but I understand that others prefer to. My role is to be courteous to all drivers. I don't own those streets.
So as much as I believe that Carlin was one of the great comedians in his time, some things he said did not make sense. The only people who are idiots, to me, are the people who do not pay attention to what they are doing, or where they are doing it (cruising 35mph in a 55mph, not passing anybody in the left lane, taking 45 minutes to reach 45mph - as if trying to preserve the planet at each stop).
I also dislike the - "Because I'm not in a hurry, you are not either" mentality of people who take a full minute to achieve 40mph in a 45mph zone. But they aren't in a hurry, so neither are you. You should slow down and enjoy the life blessed upon you.
As a sports car owner - I enjoy the drive. Why can't I do this parallel to the others who do not? Simple: idiots. Lack of courtesy towards others. Selfishness. Self-centered drivers. People who believe they are superior beings, who feel the need to 'teach' you a lesson in driving. People without manners (bad parenting?).
