iPod connector issue

My previous 06 C2 cab didn't have the iPod connector so I was excited about my new to me 10 C2S having the adapter. Having a few issues. The iPod isn't being charged when plugged in and is apparently being drained even when the car is off. When music is playing and being controlled by the PCM I can still hear music through the headphones.

Should the iPod be getting power through the 30 pin connector? The sound through the headphones doesn't bother me as much but it's just weird.

1 - Disconnect the headphones from the iPod.
2 - Use the Y cable iPod cable (available HERE) and connect both the DIN and USB plugs and the iPod will charge while playing.

The single DIN->iDock cable provides for 12v charging... which isn't used by newer/recent generation iDevices anymore. Thus the Y cable mentioned, which is USB + DIN -> iDock. That cable is cheaper than the straight cable, oddly, and provides the 5v charging from the USB port - though it consumes the USB port.

As far as discharing when the car is off, not sure. I agree that with the single cable, the car wouldn't allow the iDevices to 'go to sleep' so they just ran down the battery. Maybe the Y cable solves this? I've not had mine long enough to know.

OK guys. Don't laugh too hard. Had a really really blonde moment. I have the y-connector. After going to Suncoast's website and seeing how the thing is used......i plugged in the USB and everything works great now. I was wondering what that USB part of the Y-dongle was used for!
