I wonder if they get sticky. Mine look ok the volume is starting to wear and it feels like some kids eating taffy were playing with it.

Mine was doing that too. Pull it of (really, it pulls right off), hold it over the sink and pour some rubbing alcohol over it. Give it a little rub with your thumb and maybe douse again...good as new.

Sticky ***** (ewe) are a result of the plastic breaking down back to its basic component (oil).
You can clean at first but really, time to replace them.
