Bumper Fix Advice

Hi,

I made a retarded parking move and slowly backed into a parked car behind me as I was parallel parking. So luckily no damage to the other car and the only damage to my car is the bumperette passenger side only. It's kinda dented with a flat line through the middle and now I want to fix it even though its minor. Anyone know a reputable place in SoCal to fix/repaint it? Is it worth doing or would you guys just live with it?

Thanks!

I would have to see it to say. And if I could see it, I would fix it.

X2. Get a price for the fix and then it may be a no brainer for you. The right body shop should not turn it into a big deal. I ve insisted with my body guy (who I know) to keep repairs like that confined to the smallest area possible.

the bumperettes are a cheap and easy fix. you only have to paint and repair 1 small part, not the entire bumper.

Use Chris Sterling in Irvine. Great work and well priced.

If the paint is not cracked you should try heating it with a hairdryer or a heatgun if you can borrow one.
Get it real hot but not so hot as you melt the paint . The easiest way is to keep it moving.
After 5 minutes or so remove the heat and it should pop back to its original shape.
a quick colour sand if there are small scratches will have it good as new.

Thanks! Not sure I'm that brave though. But I guess if I plan to fix it anyways I have nothing to lose. Has anyone had success doing this!!?!

Im talking from experience.....

But of course it all depends on if the plastic is caught on anything underneath such as a metal bumper reinforcement etc.
if it is free to return to its original shape there is a very good chance it will do after heat is applied.

I was going to take pictures as I was doing it on a 964 rear bumper back in england.
But I guy came talking to me so I took the heat off so I didn't burn it whilst talking
and it popped out while I was talking
