Cargraphic or Borla mufflers?

Hi All,

I am mulling over a coupla deals on slightly used mufflers for my 997.1 C2 - Borla or Cargraphic is the question. None of the sound clips really do justice to sound, so I am looking for some user feedback. I do not want sport cup wail, just a deeper, "throatier" sound than the stock cans can provide. I am also considering the Gundo hack but am imagining that I might get a more well-rounded sound from sport mufflers.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Pete

I love my Cargraphic. Not too loud, just a deeper growl and just enough inside the ****pit to know you're driving a Porsche. Zero drone. On WOT, the sound comes much more to life, but not excessive. The build quality rivals OEM, so I can't see these things ever failing. It would take great effort to even try to dent the cans. It's also designed to mount stress free, and your OEM tailpipes can be adjusted to position perfectly. Cargraphic claims a 10 PS power increase too. I've had zero issues with my setup.

Great Steve! Thanks - just the kind of advice I am looking for. Sounds like the Cargraphics would be a safe bet. They are a few hundred dollars more than my Borla deal, so I'd love to hear some input from the "Borla people" before committing.

Thanks again,

Pete

Depends which Version it is. For 997 there are 3 Versions. TUV, TUV Sound & Super Sound Export. Most likly its Super Sound Version. I have heard this and it sounds great not as loud as Tubi tho. I have tubi on mine and have put many Super Sounds on customers 997's

Thanks! I think that might work very well for me - I have driven a 996 Carrera with a Tubi and I think it was just slightly too loud for my taste.

Can anybody chime in on the Borla?

it has a nice 'throaty' sound upto 4000 rpm.. then it really opens up with higher pitch at the 6000+ RPM

very happy with it !

I have Super Sound Export (without flaps) plus x-pipe with sound collision. Very happy with tone and volume.

Thats the Perfect Set-Up we have done a few of those and the Collision X-Pipe is the Deal Maker, the Sound is just so refined with that X-Pipe

Whats wrong with the stock pipe? I think they sound good, especially when you get on it.

I just want more depth. My previous two cars were an Audi RS4 and an E60 BMW M5 - wonderful, deep, basso profundo sound from those cars. While I know the flat six has a different character overall, I am looking to recreate some of the depth and "rumble" I am used to... I am also thinking about the Carnewal / RSR mufflers too - they sound pretty mean!
