Gundo Complete - before after video and recap

After thinking about it for a year I finally did the Gundo Hack. I love it! It is easily one of the most gratifying thing you can do to your car. I have leftover tubing you can have for free if you live near Orlando, FL. Just shoot me a PM and we can meet somewhere.

Total cost was about $115 for tubing and the work. The muffler shop didnt stock stainless so after reading the posts recommending stainless I ordered 2 feet of 1 3/4 304 tubing from eBay. The supplier builds headers and sells scraps for $9 per foot delivered from north Dakota. I bought 2 feet but used less than one. I removed my mufflers myself and took them to a local muffler specialist that has been in business for 30 years: Muffler Man on OBT. Dennis the owner is a good guy to work with. After showing him pictures of what i was wanting to do he quoted me $90 plus tax for the work if I took the mufflers off myself. Prices went up a bit if he did the removal. The job took an hour and a half and the welder took his time ensuring a good fit.

Here is a link to my before and after video on you tube. Use good speakers or headphones and enjoy!

John

Sounds great. I should have saved the $1500 I spent on my exhaust system and just done this mod.

Nice work and nice vid! I like how you didn't just jam on the gas when you took off - those types of take offs tend to mask the entire range of revs and the associated sound. Really good contrast before/after. I love mine too. Best 200$ mod ever (I had the shop do the entire job).

Awesome. I sent my mufflers to Darin at FD Motorsports this morning for Fister hacking. I can't wait to get them back now!

Thanks, I was tempted to get on it a little for the video, but it was in my driveway. Besides, I love the low rpm growl more than anything. I recorded it on my cell phone, surprised it picked up the sound so well.

Offer still available to any local guys for the tubing and shop reference.
