Fabspeed x-pipe DIY help..!

Has anyone installed the fabspeed catless x-pipe without taking off the mufflers? A mechanic buddy of mine tried doing it and 3 hrs later gave up. The x pipe seems to be a little longer than the NHP 200 cell cats I took off and it's making it very difficult to install. Anyone who has done this DIY, your advice would be more than greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For the Fabspeed x-pipe, the pipe that connects to the muffler is longer which is compatible with Fabspeed mufflers. If you are not using Fabspeed mufflers they do need to be cut. I remember reading an install by G Rides on a members cars here and on rennlist when shopping for that x-pipe and they cut about 1"-2" off the slip joint for it to fit on his tubi mufflers.

I fitted fabspeed x pipes on myself. I only needed to loosen one side muffler (just the 3 bolts) to get room to move the x pipes into place. Just be sure to attach the oxygen sensors (in the right order) to the x pipes first before putting the x pipes on the car.

Gah thank you! That makes a lot more sense now

Do know you remember which member it was so I can contact them about exactly how much to cut. I don't think Fabspeed is open on the weekend

Did you have something other than fabspeed mufflers? And were you able to do it without cutting the slip joints? Also which order do the O2 sensors need to be put back on in? I was thinking of just leaving them off since the system is catless anyways.

Oops, just noticed you have the catless x-pipe rather than the high flow cat x-pipe. Regardless, I'm sure they're still the same length as the high flow cat version. Here are two posts regarding cutting the pipes.

Sorry. My mistake. I read incorrectly. I thought you meant fabspeed 200 cel cats (which look like an x pipe to me). My 0.2c would be to measure up the x pipes with the cats you pulled off to see the difference.

Yah I was thinking about doing that but I'm a bit unsure as the best way to measure it. I'm gonna wait till Monday and give Fabspeed a call.
