What to look for: replaced dented/scratched rear quarter panel
Hey guys,
Car got hit at the rear quarter panel. Cosmetic damage only. They replaced the whole panel. They had to cut and weld the new one in. I'm picking up the car next week, so what other than whether the color was matched, should I look for?
Any info or experiences are appreciated.

matching body lines and seams, factory finish and corrosion protection on the opposite side, color blend into the rest of the paint (ESP. on metallics), overspray, correct fasteners etc in places they disassembled, window installation and general cleanliness.
agreed, plus look at the color blend in a few different sources of lighting.
Frame damaged from a body panel? How can that be? And even if it was frame damaged, yet repaired what would one expect the ins company to do about it?
I would look to see you are happy with the blend point. It can be on the c pillar or they could paint the whole edge along the window.
Principally, I would look under the rear wheels to see if it appears that any of the suspension has been replaced. Compare the look of all the components on the left side versus the right. If they replaced suspension parts, it wasn't just a fender bender. Also, big point, did you run the carfax? If the car has an accident on the carfax, it will reduce the value of the car.

Also, if you have a detailer with a good eye (most good ones are the most **** people I know), ask them to look at it. They will be able to spot the blends and lines and get the shop to correct any issues.

Thanks guys, great advice.
BTW, I talked to the insurance and body shop guy, there was no other damage than the fender. It was a very minor accident. It does affect resale, but I'm planning to keep her for a while. By the time I might sell, it won't matter as much.
