Can you post a pic of the new one? If I recall, those metal fingers should be longer, correct?

A pic of a new one would give us better perspective because that one looks pretty good for that amount of miles.

The new ones are already in. I didnt think about a new picture, sorry.
This is from a 2007 3.6 997. I am the second owner and could not locate where the second owner did the change. That is why it was done late.

Maybe this will help.

I have a 2005 C2 and did the change at about 65k also. The plugs looked similar, are they supposed to look like that?

Here's mine at 55800 miles compared to new a new OEM plug. Also attached other items I replaced- air filter, belt, oil (last changed in March 2012), no hint of any glitter in the filter (it may look like it, but those are specular highlights from the flash).

what is the feeling about age vs mileage for plugs and coils. Many folks have much lower mileage. I know he "book" states 4 years max interval, but if there are no codes being thrown or other issues, how imperative is it to change out plugs and coils before the mileage limits?

Thoughts?

my indy says after 4 years corrosion starts to set in and the plugs could bind, an spose in wetter climates it might come quicker, makes sense...
