100% invisible radar detector

All,

Looking at a radar/laser detector that will be 100% invisible. So obviously, that removes all windshields mounted radar as they are very visible.

Installed radar is the way to go. BUT, all of them need a control module and a display module. So again, not 100% invisible.

The only product I found that could match my needs is the Iradar S200R: https://www.cobra.com/detail/index.cfm?nPID=318
It is a installed radar/laser detector and display/control unit is the Iphone. Brilliant !
But reviews on Iradar mention it’s one of the worst products on the market.

Anything on the market working the same way as the S200R (installed, and display/control unit is the Iphone)

Thanks

Why is it so important to you to have it invisible? Here in California laser jammers are illegal but not detectors?

the Escrot 9500Ci can be install 100% invisible. You got the Antenna Module, front and back sensor independents.

You still have the control and Display module, but these can be installed in a hidden place, you can just program it at installation and you will go by "sound" only. You can also install the Display embedded on Rear view mirror so it is almost invisible.

However if you installed the control module away, you won't be able to change settings or silent the alarms while you drive. (which is a PITA).

Valentine One, have a Bluetooth module and you can use your iPhone as the display module, however the Radar itself is very hard to install "invisible", you can install it in the front of the car and use the Bluetooth, however it wil lose the ability to detect threats from behings and the sides (only forward detect), which in my opinion is a waste.

the sensors in bumper and rear plate mount are give aways. i would be worried about getting caught based on those instead of interior controls which can be hidden.

Never seen them on 997s, but I've seen them on M3s and the sensors are very well hidden, you can't see them unless you look for them and you know they are installed.

I second the Escort installed models. You can leave off the laser detectors/shifters, and put the radar sensor under the bumper cover. Its not going to work as well there, but its better than nothing. You can hide the display in the mirror (radar-mirrors.com) and the control panel can be concealed where you hardly need to access it other than set up the thing and then rely on the mirror display or the LED you install in the dash.

I've got my display in the mirror, and will put the control panel either in the ashtray or in teh glove box for config purposes and run just mute/shifter-off buttons out of that controller to key locations I can get to easily so short of a search warrant and really digging in the car, nothing would be seen.

Any solution that is really concealed and hard to find must be a custom-one-off solution. If someone makes and sells it as a kit, then the folks looking for it will know about the kit and look there.

Regardless of which way you go...

Do yourself a HUGE favor and pick up a cheap/used/broken throw away detector too. Put it in your glove box or door pocket. Then when you get pulled over b/c a detector detector snags you, you'll have a sacrificial unit for the offering. Otherwise you'll pay a hefty fine AND lose a good detector.

Installed my Beltronix above left half of the back mirror, hidden behind factory, 3' wide tint of the windshield. Totally invisible from the outside. Only way you can see it is when you stick your had inside the vehicle through the side window and look up. Never happened so far! This setup saved me many, many times in last 15 years. Can take some pictures if interested, Drive safe, Mike from Brooklyn, NY

It may be illegal in some places in the world, but unless you tell us where you are applying this statement to such as your location, its not worth much.

affpvzta, no one asked you if it's legal or not. If you want to be smart ***, post your knowledge on one of law bulletin boards where people are asking what's legal and what's not. This bulletin board serves different purposes.

Maciek, if you could post picture it would be nice.

i'm not too concerned about having detection only from the front of the car. I can always hope that i'm too far from them and they won't get a reading. from the rear, it's an other story. hard to get away as it is way too late, we are like 20 feet away... lol

i'm also thinkin at the escort smartradar and make it a installed version. which will require me opening the unit and tweak it... $500 seems ok for a detector. $1600 for the 9500Ci is a lot of money imo. but still. can't afford to buy cheap...

am I right to believe that a windshield unit will not work well against laser? I mean, cops are aiming the headlights. not the windshield...

thanks :-)

I got the smartradar recently. Removed the bottom shell of the unit and embedded it into the passenger side sun visor. 100% hidden except for a small wire at the sun visor hinge that you can't see and the control unit mounted on the backside of the rear view mirror. The display is embedded inside the mirror (similar to the photo above).

nice!
I did reading about the smartradar yesterday.
it is detectable by radar detector detector....
so no go for this one

The SmartRadar is not designed as an RDD invisible radar detector, but it is completely invisible to the older VG2 and VG4, but can be detected by the newer RDD versions called Spectre, OPP Spectre and Stalcar radar detector detectors.
