Has anyone used AWE Tuning S-FLO Filter ?
I have installed a couple of them locally and they make a noticeable difference in throttle response. I can not give solid evidence in power gains as I do not have a dyno. But car feels more lively. If you have any other questions let me know. I have these in stock.
and i left my salesman shoes off before answering. More you guys get to know me, more you will realize I will be the first person to criticize a product. Hey, and I just picked up a 997, so we are family now.
No way will an air filter make a noticeable difference in power or throttle response. Lucky if you get 1HP. Sound will likely improve though.

Many of these intakes cause power loss, and a lot of these intakes are just common bolt on filters that you can use for any other car. I have done many of them in the past, EVOMS, AWE, different drop in filters. On a NA vehicle the only real performance gains will be with a higher flowing cats (or none) and a single mass flywheel.
My GT3 is heavily modified, but is running stock mufflers and intake...I am missing a few extra HP, but have saved thousands of dollars in the mean time. I went through it on my last 2 Carrera's and Audi's prior to that...save your money.

HAving a better flowing filter IN THE STOCK AIR BOX does not hurt. i am using the BMC ones which as very similar.
Personally i disagree with the open style intakes for the 911s because these intake draw a lot of hot air from the engine compartment.
If i would do an investment to modify the air intake i would just use the lid from the GT3 with the big scoops and again with the stock airbox...
With just a filter replacement do not except anything more than a few bhp...

The better flowing filters don't hurt, but at the same time if they are the clean and reuse ones that require oil, most times they do more harm then good. Many people over oil them, and then the oil gets on the MAF, and the engine adjusts for what it thinks is the actual air measurement flowing into the engine, and that will ultimately rob your engine of power...at least temporarily. I have a BMC filter that came with the car, it gets vacuumed out, but when it is too dirty, I will install a OEM paper filter.
Agree with northVan! I was GTRR on this forum before starting this business. You can search all the mods that I did to my previous 997. In the end, only the sport cats and tune made a difference. Now, I have a GT3.....I got the tune, but waiting on high quality cats. I went cheap last time and had issues with CEL. Also, I am concentrating on dropping weight....unsprung weight first!
I tired to make my C2S as close to a GT3 with every mod I could get....wasn't even close. The GT3 is a totally different car, love it! I have no interest in changing this one out.
