Can you give us some history on the failure? Was it sudden? What mods you have, what mileage....

Dear Jabed,

the car has 25000 miles on it and has no mods on it. The crack is between the spark plug housing and the cylinder edge and is causing the water to seep in causing misfiring.

Thanks for the info and sorry about your misfortune. I have the exact year and model so I was curious if this is a common problem as my CPO warranty is about to expire and I'm not really considering an aftermarket extended at this point. I have heard if this on older 996 models and never on a 997. Now I might consider the extended...hmmmm

Are you out of warranty? Have you got quote to repair? What's the cost you are looking at at the dealer or Indy?

The car is my brother-in-law's
.
mine is a 2010 cabriolet 4S.
he stop purchasing the warranty 3 years ago so he saved $6000 but now he got quoted 16000$ by the dealer.
Never ever lose your extended warranty.

we are struggling to find a used part.

Any help would be appreciated.
