In your opinion, what are some of the must have options for the 997.2 S and C4S with PDK? The option which seems the most important is the sport chrono. Any others? Did the C4S come with a sport diff option like the turbo?

Subscribed. I just drove a 10 997.2 S today, and a 13 991 today. ill be curious what others have to say as well. The 2010 S i drove did not have power seats... i thought about it thinking... for a 70K car...no power seats... but i never move the ones i have. So, not a must have for me. Yes to sport chrono for me.

Must haves without a question are:

PSE - Porsche Sport Exhaust

PSM - includes Sport and Sport+ modes

I just went through this, after I sat in Sport Seats they became a must have, but that depends on the person. PSE can be taken care of with aftermarket so I did not make it a must have, but I agree the stock exhaust needs to go.

I do not get the whole Power Seat deal, unless you change drivers does it matter? Mine are power, but I would not care if they were not as long as you can still adjust manually.

I have had 6 different 997 C4Ss.
PDK
Sport Chrono, no re- sale unless

Love FULL LEATHER, even tho not needed.
Heated SW if driven in winter
Cooled seats are great too.
If the car comes w PCCB, BUY IT!

There are a few options that help with resale value and I think make the car a bit more worth while. Some of these are personal options tho...

Navigation with Bose audio - This is a must have. You will have a much harder time selling the car without it. And although the Navigation in the 997.1 isnt so great I would assume its much better in the 997.2

PSM is nice but I personally like the way the Chrono feature looks even if I dont use it. So I would go with the Sport Chrono option.

PSE is a waste of money unless you really want a louder exhaust. And if you do you can always do it later. However I would not rule a car out if it had the option.

For me the heated seats are awesome. It gets down right cold in New England and the leather just stays cold for too long. I love having them. The standard seats are just fine for me but wouldn't mind the sport seats, just wouldn't hold out for them.

The full leather interior is a nice touch. I like the added stitching on the dash and such. It is kind of personal but I also think it classes the car up to where it should be for a Porsche.

Painted Wheel Center Crests - If you have the stock tires with the cheapo looking plastic center caps and just the black crests it looks...well...cheap. If the car didnt have it I would just add it on my own.

- Navigation. it's really good on 997.2. I use my iphone for nav a lot in my bmw... but in the 911... there's no place to put the iphone where you can see it. Unless you have some sort of mount. I don't like stuff hanging off my dashboard.

- Bose, it's not great. but better than stock.

- Ipod / Bluetooth

- Heated Seats - prob my most used option.

- Cooled seats - great during the summer.. the seats don't breath very well.

- Sport Chrono only if you have PDK. it's kinda useless on my manual tranny car.

- Power Seats... I know for people that never move their seats it doesn't matter. But i'll move my seat just based on the shoes I wear.

Wish list....

- Full Leather - it just looks sooooo good

- PSE - it would be nice to have a louder exhaust for those days you just want to hear the car sing.

- Sport Seats - I get jealous whenever I see a car with them.

I agree with Heated Seats, if you drive in Cold weather the Heated Steering wheel is amazing.

I wish I had Ventilated seats, if I had a Vert it would be a Must Have.

Not must-have options but must have mods ......
Paddle wheel and 15mm rear spacers

IMHO a good Teutonic color and full black leather trim will out-weigh any fully optioned car with a bad color combo come resale time ...
Other than that , look at would you would option if you where buying new and buy a used car based on that .
