The new 911 C2S!
The new 911 C2S!
I was able to pick up our new 2006 997 911 Carerra S 6spd last weekend! This is my 2nd Porsche. I had a 2007 Boxster which I now consider a gateway drug into the Porsche kingdom
I feel very fortunate at a young age (32) to own a Porsche!
I enjoyed the mid engine handling of the Boxster but being the base model and all, it just did not have enough get up and go. The search began for sometheing faster. I found the 911 down in IL and it was what we were looking for.
The 911 has the turbo wheels, K20 radar detector, heated seats, and the mobridge BT/iPod connection kit as well. It was in very good condition and just needed a little TLC from me, ha! After getting it home I spent the next full day detailing it from top to bottom. I hit it with my PC7424 and Meguairs 205 to get any fine swirls out then went onto several coats of Zaino polishes. I wiped down the motor area, all rubber trim, and the interior(combo of Zaino on leather and 303 aerospace on dash etc). Overall, I am very pleased with the results especially considering black is a PITA.
The car itself is a blast to drive in comparison! The "S" motor is so much more peppy and the PASM rides great! I like having the option to adjust the suspension. This will come in handy when I take her up to a private track day at Road America / Elkart Lake in August. The car will be a weekend toy for us, so maybe 3k miles a year or so. It has 38k on it and the plan is to change my own oil each year and possibly thrown in new plugs, coils, and swap the belt next year to be safe. The rear tires are brand new while the fronts have maybe 1-2k miles on them. After inspecting the front brakes, they are about 50%. Hopefully beyond this, its trouble free!
I do have some questions though. Does anyone have any experience with the Mobridge products? I was messing around with it and could not find the actual unit (guessing its in the frunk not under the seats) plus I could not get it working correctly. Also, do the headlamp washers always stick out when not in use? The passenger side one is out even further, strange.
Enough of me, here is the car.....

That's pretty
Looks like you found a great example, love those Turbo wheels. Hopefully you can plan a few trips up to the Dells over the summer. The headlamp washers always stick up and are fixed, not sure why the one would be sticking up more then the other. Have your tried to push down on it a bit ? When your ready we offer a full arrange of service kits, for more information Click Here.
