Just lowered my 997.1 - need feedback on rear toe settings

Hi All -

I just dropped my 997 C2 - using Cargraphic springs (Thanks to Mike at RSS). Question for everyone who's lowered on H&R's or Eibachs... After you got your car aligned, are the rear toe settings still way too "off" to get decent tire wear/life?

I'm debating whether to get the rear toe links now and just take the plunge, or whether if a good alignment can get me 90% of the way there.

Thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Welcome to 6Speed and welcome to a fellow Socal P car owner.

My car is a 997.2 C2 with H&R springs. I have Michelin Super Sports and am very pleased with the tread wear and the camber and toe. Here is my set up.

I had the eibachs installed and the rears could not be aligned according to my indy shop. Ended up getting the adjustable toe links. No unusual wear at all now.

I'm guessing if you can put up the car on stands, it's 2 or 3 bolts on each side. Should be a fairly simple DIY with the right hand tools.

The thought is (which was my original question), is if you couldn't get your rear toe settings at an acceptable range, then buy a set of rear toe links, similar to what is sold here:

I have dropped my 997.1 4s with H&R springs. Installed also Bilstein B8 sprint Damptronic and H&R sway bars front and rear. The Porsche dealer that did the alignment had no problem to bring car to factory specs.
