I drove a 2012 GTS and a 991S. There is a bit of difference in steering feel but not something that I would say is a bad thing just a difference. 35K savings I'm not seeing any where. Best I have seen is 20K. Although substantial savings, I will say the interior of the 991 IMO is far superior. PDK even seems faster smoother if that is even possible. If your not a fan of the 991 that's cool. The GTS rocks. Missing parking brake lever isn't a deal breaker for me

Waiting on PCNA

Best of luck with your situation. A buddy of mine in Boston had his covered despite being out of warranty. Like others said, hopefully PCNA sees you as a loyal customer and give you a break.

I just sat in a Guards Red C4S this morning while they are putting my HRE wheels in. I think the 991 interior is more luxurious and modern but it also made the car much more of a GT rather than a purist sports car. I think the interior fit and finish is quite well built and the fit and finish seems to be a notch above the 997. However, the 991 does not have full leather so comparing to my cabin which is full leather with carbon / leather add-ons, it feels like a downgrade. I'm sure the full leather interior will be much nicer.

Overall, I can't wait to lay hands on the turbo when it comes out next year.

Said back seats weren't adequate for his needs. Sounds weird maybe but dealer said its crazy like that sometimes. Bonus - owner had clear bra installed before it ever left dealership. Full hood and fender treatment. I inspected inside and out and could not discern it from a brand new off the truck model.
All great reasons, for sure. I was only curious because a close personal friend has been telling me for years that his son-in-law works in sales at a Porsche/Mercedes dealership in Appleton. I'm assuming that it must be the same place, and was wondering about your experience there. If/when the time comes for me to pull the trigger on a 997.2, I might have to give him a shot at finding me the car I want...

I don't understand the issue here, if you like the 997 keep it, but don't insult someone by criticizing their new purchase.

We have a running joke here on lab: "How do you know an engineer went to MIT?" ... "It's easy, they'll tell you."

Same thing for the GTS guys. They'll take every opportunity to tell you how great they are.

No answers yet. I do expect to hear something soon though. I read one other IMS failure thread where it took three weeks for Porsche to respond. Their response was favorable in that case and the guy bought his 05 used without warranty from a non-Porsche dealer. He did have to pay labor. I'm hoping Porsche will handle 100% in my case. I will post as soon as I get news.

Good luck with this one... it's remarkably bad timing! I can't imagine having this on my brain while my new 991S sits in the dealership. I can't see Porsche doing anything other than the right thing here.

MattyF - Show use so called "GTS guys" when and where we post how great we are. I didn't make the car!! Just fond of it, like everybody else is about their car on this site.

Heart breaking story and the picture! I would have "cried"
Anyway, I am sure things will end up well. I am positive that between now and then you will have a couple of extra grey hairs.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I guess this is getting off topic now so I will chime in .

LOVE my 997 but I will most likely move to a 991 at some point. I think most of us will. The comment about the manual hand brake makes me laugh. I relate the hand brake to the ignition, I would rather push a button. But i do prefer a manual gear box. Maybe I am crazy?... oh well...

I really hope they do right by your car and you get the car you want. Good luck!

Too funny! The cars Mike, I meant the cars! Failure in use of the 'they' pronoun. How great they (the GTS cars) are!
