I clean the insides my wheels since the spokes are so far apart. A wash mitt just doesn't cut it, and I'm tired of cutting the the back of my hands when cleaning inside my wheel. I also spend too much time on this so looking to speed things up a bit.

I am looking at the large EZ detail brush, but I just can't justify ~$25 for a glorified toilet brush.

I am debating on picking up a polyester or chenille/microfiber duster to see if it does the same job. Bristles are softer so it likely won't do as good a job at agitating and lifting the dirt/brake dust/etc. but they are much less expensive than the EZ brush and are widely available.

Just picked up a soft nylon brush for cleaning lug nuts, brake calipers, engine compartment, etc.. $3 from the hardware store; apparently Staples also sells this for around $2.49.

i tried many brushes.. with so-so results on my Y-mesh

the combo that works best for me: soaped wash towel around my fingers and hand

i also use Sonex wheel cleaner once in a while (pre-wash)

and Armor All Wheel Protectant to keep it clean longer (after wash).

+1 on the Armor All Wheel Protectant. I also use this brush from Adams

Great for cleaning with wheels still on the car.

i use a long wheel brush to clean the barrel

between the small spokes, tooth brush or a sponge sliding between the cracks work well enough.

i use soapy water and a scrubbing pad on the more spoiled spots. no harm on the paint as long as you don't scrub hard. no special wheel cleaner needed.

Like many others, I'm cheap so a good toilet brush and dish brush works great.
Old tooth brushes for the calipers.

+1 - As usual, the crazyman knows best!

For me, either a washcloth or an old sheepskin mitt along with some dish detergent works best. Toilet brushes are much too abrasive on the wheel paint.

Maybe a little over the top, but I use a microfiber glove. Can then wash the wheel between spokes and the back side without cutting your hand. Also use the wheel brush, but does not get it all between spokes and not on the back side. The gloves are cheap and pretty much last forever.
