'09 Base vs. '08 C2S
The race shop that worked on my 996 was on that street. When I was looking for a 997, the owner told me switchcars was down the street. Had he not, I would never have known they were there. Very unassuming warehouse/office building.
Doug is the owner. Good guy, and seems to have nice inventory. I bought mine there. Straight shooter, and fair prices. I had a new clear bra applied as part of purchase. It was perfect also. He knew the right person to call.
My old 996 C4S is on their site now. But I think he sold it.

it's funny reading these responses. I never even considered a .2 base. I knew I had to have an S model from the get go. for as many reasons as there are to go .2 base, there are x2 to go .1 S in my mind...
Anyways, looking at your sick .1 S, I can only imagine how happy you are with your purchase. congratulations! The car looks great and I, too, am a fan of your wheels.

Outstanding choice! It's often about the actual car (colors, options, condition etc.) and what speaks to you vs. a simple .2 > .1 question. The areo kit and wheels really sets your car apart from the average C2S.
Plus it looks like you've got a two tone black and carrera red interior. Please post some interior pics!

The interior is that two tone black/terra cotta. It photographs badly. In pics it looks orange. But trust Porsche to have taste. In person it looks just like a terra cotta pot color. I would never have thought I would like it until I saw it in person. Now I really like it. Go figure.

just as many others have faced the issue, it came down to the newer DFI engine, interior upgrades, and pdk for me. I went with the base w/ PDK and do not regret my decision at all. From a performance standpoint, they are almost identical. On the track this past weekend at Road Atlanta, I remember following a 997.1 CS and we were the exact same distance going into a low speed corner and going out to a full throttle straight away (I actually was gaining on him after 1/8 of mile). You honestly can't go wrong, but if you want PDK, the choice is easier!
