no spare on 997

have ordered a new 997 c4s. One issue that concerns me is the lack of a spare tire. Being 7 miles from the nearest exit on a freeway, out of cell phone range could be a downer. That combined with the 19 inch wheels make me concerned about flats.

How often have you all (997s owners) experienced flats?

does going down to an 18 inch wheel help matters.

sure wish Porche had at least put a doughnut wheel in the car.

No 997s come with spares, right?
Buy a 996 one on ebay and put it in your trunk. That would probably work in an emergency.

Outside tire diameter increased 1 inch from the 996 to the 997 . The smaller diameter 996 spare ( if it even clears the rotors on the 997S) may throw off the ABS , stability and traction systems and for sure will cause problems if tried on the coming AWD C4S. Also, you lose pretty much all the front trunk and since there is no bolt to hold it down , it could dent your hood pretty badly if it went airborn from car jumping an unexpected speed bump.
