2005 997 C2 Evolution
I been meaning to get around and share my build with the rest of the boards for a while now but you all know how it is with time these days. I always wanted and knew a porsche car was the next step for me after owning several BMW's in the past. I really wanted a GT3 997.1 but financially it was not the car for me at this time. I knew that after owning several rear wheel drive cars, occasional track day events and very spirited driving that a rear wheel drive 911 was what i wanted. Horse power was not a big deal to me but instead the aggressive look that came with the GT3's was what caught my attention.
I was finally able to pick up this beautiful 2005 Carrera 2 from my local porsche Dealer in Roslyn, Long Island, NY. Like many of you guys i was shopping around for a 911 for months before i found the one for me. This was the perfect candidate because it was rear wheel drive which i wanted, had only 27K miles, looked and still smelled brand new. Car came loaded with navigation, premium bose sound, xenon head lights, sports package, GT brembo brakes 6pot front and 4pot rear, sport 19" rims, brand new perelli tires, fabspeed complete exhaust system, everything checked out with this car and the price was right in my budget at only $43k. I spent a lot of time on these boards reading some very informative threads about the pros and cons of these cars. Thanks for all the information that many of you have provided me with before getting into this new world of automotive bliss.

First thing is first with all my cars which is suspension and exhaust. The good thing the exhaust already came with this car so it was a decision of coilovers or lowering springs. I went with a set of H&R lowering springs which were the perfect drop for me here in New York City. We dont have those nice roads like the rest of the country so coilovers for the porsche was not going to be needed right now. Went to my friends shop and installed these springs on my own. Took me roughly four hours because it was my first time doing suspension on a porsche but if i had to do it again the time would be cut in almost half.

I was very happy with the car but in the back of my mind i still wanted the look of the GT3 so before i even finalized the deal to purchase the car i started doing my home work and asking questions. I want to give much props to forum member V35, i hope he see this thread because his car was my inspiration. I knew the look i was going for so i started buying parts before i even took the car home. There were a lot of tough decisions to make because not before long i started to see how expensive things were for these cars versus the world of BMW that i came from. I narrowed it down to two companies, Precision and Misha Designs for after market parts. I wanted OEM quality but didn't want to spend OEM dollars. I ended up going with Misha designs GT3 front and rear bumper which was near perfect fitment according to my Body shop which was another angel from heaven.

Now that i figured out the bumpers parts i wanted to go with i had to have that GT wing to complete the look i was going for so i picked up the 997.2 GT3 wing

Since i went with the center exhaust like the GT3 i had to take the Fabspeed complete exhaust out and have some really nice fabrication work done to fit an OEM GT3 exhaust i got from a friend that owed me big time.

Since the car was due to go into the body shop in a couple weeks i knew that i had to get some quality wheels to complement a quality car. I found a forum member selling a set of BBS LMR's in diamond black and they were pretty beat because he used them for track use so i had them all professionally re-done to brand spanking new in diamond silver, which were more appealing to me.

Finally the car was ready to go into the body shop. I had a trip to the Philippines for two weeks so the timing was perfect. The shop said they needed two weeks but of course when i got back they was not done and needed another week so the anticipation just grew more and more, day by day. The day came to finally pick the car up and of course it was raining cats and dogs out but that didn't stop me from going to pick my baby up. When i got there i was speechless after what i saw. It was love at first sight.

Just when i thought i was done i got a great Deal on a GT3RS alcantera steering wheel with the time attack stripe and GT3 alcantera shift **** and boot. I always knew i wanted these two parts. Even though i had the sports steering wheel the grippy feel of the alcantera will be perfect for track days and spirited drives.

Thank you very much. Everyday I look at it I can't believe it's mine ☺
Thanks to a good friend and fabricator of mine. The exhaust sounds amazing and everyone love it all over. Thank you for having the bombest 997 C2 on the boards. Let me know when your getting rid of those wheels. Hopefully they fit over these brakes.
Yeah I was shocked to find such a good deal locally. Thanks
Thank you. No I'm in Queens, NY. If the car was in Florida I would have surely went with coilovers and dropped the car lower.
You know NYC very well my friend because that's exactly where the shoot was taken. And yes I'm in Queens, NY.

Looks very nice. Im thinking about doing the same thing. I really want a GT3 but not sure I can justify the large payment for a car that will sit in the garage the majority of the time. Please post a video of the exhaust. Your car looks awesome.
