That still pisses me off. Doesn't make sense to us 997 owners...

 

Who the hell cares......... .10 second - .24 give me a break...I dont care if it was 1 second faster around the ring. I need 4 seats, love the 911 look and the awesome drive of the car...............

I am sure none of us will be competing at the Ring anytime soon and losing to a Cayman.......

Personally I don't like the look of the car at all.

On 2nd thought, I'll probably drive one and think its the coolest thing ever.

 

The cayman is gonna be a *****in car, mid engine hard top; wait till they start dropping GT3 motors into them. Are there plans for a cayman S yet?

I care. I don't neccassarily love the looks of the Cayman, but we have to admit it's somewhat similar in looks...$20,000-$30,000 cheaper...and is faster??? All I'm saying is that if Porsche knew they were going to release the Cayman and that it would be faster than the 997, they should have made the Carrera with 355 hp, and the "S" with 375, etc. IMO, this somewhat lowers the bar for us Carrera owners.

 

There are lots of cars faster than the base 997 for a lot cheaper. I have never understood what would possess someone to buy the base model if their concerns are performance.

If you don't need 4 seats, trade your 997 in for a Cayman and pocket some cash if you're that botherd by it.

 

bottom line.... its still not a "911" :-)

 

That is the Cayman S...the base Cayman will be out next year with a 2.7 or 3.0....And 10K cheaper. If they make a Cayman RS then that will be a VERY fast car.
