991 ride

i finally let the dealer do something on my car, bleed the clutch, and of course an €80 quote turned into like 125, but that was ok cause they gave me a 991 cab for the day... and not that anyone cares, but i have to say, aside from it being a great day for a topdown cruise i was unbelievably disappointed...! it doesn't come close to the Q of my 2008, could it be cause it was not an 'S'? noooo, the leather is kinda cheap looking and feeling, the gauges seemed to be a little twitchy, oil guage wasn't even close to being in sync with the engine, it has the PDK with sport button and i actually preferred the sound without the sport switched on...way to loud and harsh and the supposed burbling you get when backing off was not nice, i really cannot imagine ever having one of them, at least not this iteration, the price of this one is €125.000 give or take and a wow its NOT... but what do i know, it made me really happy to get back in mine...

I'm very happy with my 997/2 C2S coupe and it's 6 speed and Tubi exhaust.

My next mods will be an IDP plenum and RS 98 wheels from Champion.

That's pretty much it.

I'll play these cards.

I have zero desire for a 991, pretty much the same desire as I had for a 996.
I've had four 993s over the years and have a soft spot for the really early cars. but I'm perfectly satisfied with my 997S and LOVE my Champion RS98s!

I drove the 991S launch car with PDK....wow super fast quick shifting. Drove a 991 manual, yuck....nasty car. I could not imagine buying a 991 without being an S. would like to try a 4S since that's what I drive, but my heart says to stay with the 997 I only have 39k on my 07. No reason to change!!

Had RS98's on my 06 C4S. Fantastic wheels. Among the lightest available on the market and bulletproof finish. Put almost 45K miles on mine and they still looked new. FWIW....the Kinesis F110 are similar in looks and as far as I've heard similar in quality. There's a used set for sale on RL: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...b-2-500-a.html No affiliation. Just saw it earlier.

Back on topic. No 991 desire here either. Haven't even driven one yet. Came close a couple of times but as i walk up to it I just realize i don't want it no matter how it drives. The 3/4 look from up front....especially the C4S looks good I think but that elongated, flat roof line that turns into what looks like too much rear bumper ruins the rear imo. No thanks.

I fell the same way- Tom at Champion had my car all day installing springs,so I went back to the dealership to kill some time, I said Hi to my favorite salesman that sold me my GTS, He gave me the keys to a new 991S and said take it out for as long as you want. So of course I did!! Long story short, I returned back to the dealer in 15min. why, for the same reasons already stated. No-Thanks I'll stick with my "Iron Man Suit" 911-GTS BOOOO Yaaaaaaaaa. Worth every penny!!
