Updated (2013) PCM NAV disc now available!

Finally! I just got an E-mail notice from Suncoast that they have a 2013 version of the NAV disc available and for sale. I think the last time it was updated was in 2008. Link here:

$325 for 2008 maps is a little much, there has been so much new development, especially in major cities, since the last update

The 997.1 maps have been updated, I'll verify but it should be a 2013 set of maps.

Only the 2002-2004 maps are limited to 2008 maps, looks like they're not going to update the old PCM 2.0 system.

There seems to be some confusion from my post. These are 2013 map versions NOT 2008 map versions.

Hey Suncoast,

Can you explain what the dealer needs to do to activate this?

I ask because I recently (and now, stupidly) updated my 2010 997.2 to the 2012 maps update. It was a major fiasco; they could NOT figure it out and ultimately had to order me an entirely new radio in order to apply the map!

If there's more to it than just putting in the CD, does ordering it from you include detailed instructions I can give the dealer?

what's the benefit of buying them from Suncoast if you have to bring the car to the dealer anyway?

Didn't know it had to be done by dealer. Does it apply only to if upgrade to the PCM is required?

I might have pressed the "reset to default" button on the PCM and now it keeps asking me to load the disc for the map (which I didn't get from the previous owner). So I've been looking for away to get the disc, even older version is fine as I just want to get rid of the message.

I'd rather spend the $325 on a great Garmin that is better and easier to use than the nav in my 06. It is a PITA to use and has lousy graphics. I can talk to the Garmin.

That is kind of what I am thinking too (even though I have PCM 3.0)
I just noticed that when I use google maps on my iPhone the turn by turn directions come through my car speakers via Bluetooth

Absolutely, Google Maps on my iPhone is good enough for me, and I'm going to get the Gateway 500BT soon too. It's just that I want to get rid of the annoying message soooo much...... I've been trying to ask people borrow the disc but have not succeed so far.

is giving this a +100 too much

btw my iPhone with google maps updates maps on a regular basis for free, is infinitely easier to use than PCM 2.1 and has integrated voice commands. Porsche should be giving this update away as consolation for putting such an awful system in a 2007 car LOL!!

I was under the impression that maps for the 997.1 cars were not available any longer due to the manufacture not making that Nav System anymore AND no longer providing support.

I'll check which system I have...may want to spend the money for the CD.
