Needed new rear tires and went with the biggest I could fit without rubbing!

First of all, I have the Avant Garde Rugers with the offset that already that puts the wheels right to the edge.
I have been running 235 fronts and 305 at the back for the longest time and I was happy with them.
Had to replace the fronts, so I went with 245, so when the time was near to replace the rears, I wanted to try the 315's but they were backordered, so I bit the bullet and ordered 325's. So now I have the 245 fronts and 325 backs.
The rear tires sit flush against my fenders, there is no rubbing and the back now looks like a steam roller.
.
The car feels more planted and glued to the ground... of course, with all that rubber!!!!

Are you driving a wide body or a narrow body? I just bought a new set of 19" rims and always wondered how wide (tires) I could go on a narrow body.
Would like to see pics of the steam roller
I bet it looks awesome.

it would depend upon the offsets and tire sizes... but normally the concensus is that an aggressive fitting wide body whee would poke out of the rear of a narrow body car. a stretched or slightly stretched tire setup would reduce the amount of the of rear poke visually.

correct me if i am wrong, but doing so would make your speedometer/odemometer slightly off no? about 3-5% ish?
My widebody car actually came with narrow body rear wheels from the factory (with 15mm spacers). Something about the sport rims that where ordered on my car weren't available in widebody at that time so this was the Porsche solution. Look at my pics, the tires fit perfectly on the rims.
the fronts while slightly bigger are under 3% which is normally the tolerance level i believe. but the power/speedometer/odometer comes from the rear wheels ... 305/325.. i quickly did a calculation and i think its under 3% so you guys should be fine.
on my wifes lexus the winter tires were just slightly too small. i knew something was off since the gps said we were doing 96km/h when the car was doing 100.

Steam Roller... ? How about the gas consumption? Did it jump from 21 MPG down to 15 MPG? I am sure it must be glued to the pavement.

I have always read that it is actually detrimental to the performance of one's car to run larger than recommended street tires.
For example, my M3 came with 235f/245r. I changed them to 245f/285r.
WE ALL did it at the time. When the E46 M3 came out. But then I remember seeing some data that we were actually screwing up our own performance lol. Not sure if this holds any water or not.
I have a narrow body and had thought of going from 295 to 305 on my next round just because I like a meaty look.... What was your inspiration? Snug fitment?

prob not that bad for gas
it does add about 4 lbs at each corner (MPSS)
does the car behave differently with 245/325 ? i would think the car would understeer a bit..
pics ?
