I got new eye candy - Guards Red Seatbelts.

This weekend's project. Replaced my black front seat belts with guards red seat belts. A nice eye candy for my black/black 997.1 C2S. I find the rear seats practically useless for me so while at it, I removed the rear seats, a 20lbs weight reduction. And since I don't have a matching red belts for the rear, I decided to just remove the rear belts as well.

This is a real easy DIY for anybody who's thinking about doing this. Here's an excellent DIY on it which gave me the confidence to tackle this project by myself.

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...eat-belts.html

Here's how it looks.

VERY nice!

I think if we dig deep enough we could skew a study enough to back up a theory that the red ones stop better...

I mean it only makes sense: the material, when pigment is applied, is thicker (and depending on the method - more dense). So when the actuators engage the belt...

... Wait - are you married? Or am I wasting my time?

And the good news is, sort of, you qualify for HOV3 without rear seats/belts (LA and SF areas are only place in state w/ HOV3). I say Sort of because technically, per CA DMV regs., only cars that are originally manufactured as a two-seater qualify; but I wonder if CHP is even aware of that arcane detail buried deep within the rules.
