DIY Question

I finally ordered by red 'S' from Suncoast to replace the standard grey 'S' on my baby.

What is the best way to remove the existing 'S?'

After removing the original do I have to get rid of the wax on the car in that area prior to putting on the new one?

Is there anyway to line up the new 'S' so that it isn't tilted?

I assume that the new one is basically a sticker so I assume that you just press it on?

Thanks in advance!

Hatzenbach has a spectacular aura aboutHatzenbach has a spectacular aura about
1) use dental floss and slowly "saw" your way through the adhesive
2) when I did it with mine i didn't get rid of the wax
3) when I did mine (as much as I cleaned the area from the adhesive) there was still a little outline visible from the old "S" which made a nice guide to install the new one, but you could also take a picture before just to be safe
4) I got mine from bumper plugs and mine had the adhesive on the back so i'd assume your's will as well

When I replaced my Carrera emblem I also used painters tape to box in the old emblem before I removed it. After removal and cleaning the residue I just put my new emblem in the box.

you could also use a light fishing line if the floss will not cut it.
you could also , with a little masking or painters tape, mark the old S top and bottom for a guide.
PIC s when you are done please.

I agree with the Plastidip. I did mine with black paint which was gray on a black car. You could just do the S in red. The nice thing is I can easily go back to the original in just a few minutes.

I also did my chrome tips with black Plastidip and I think it looks great.

Plastidip is absolutely the way to go. At Home Depot spray cans are $5.99 each. My total cost about $12-$13.

Thanks for the great advice, guys. It looks great! I used masking tape to mark the dimensions and then floss to remove the S. I had to use goo gone to get rid of the residue. No problem at all. I'm trying to post a pic but I never can at this website for some reason.

Anyway, I have even better news. I ditched the factory audio for an upgraded system. For you audiophiles out there these are what were added:

1. JL Clean sweep
2. JL Summing device
3. JL C5 speakers
4. JL Subwoofer
5. JL XD7005 amplifier

I left the head unit because I like the stock look. But the new system sounds probably 200% better than the Bose.
