After Midnight.
After Midnight.
Sometimes I can't stand to be in the house when everyone's gone to bed. The little frog in the garage wants to get out there and race through the trees and down to the coast.
My girlfriend hates that I suddenly slip out in the night for midnight drives, but I honestly can't help it. I think it's unfair that the car should have to be couped up in the garage when the moon is lighting up the empty mountain passes.
This is totally normal right? I can't be the only one.

man.....I feel the same everyday....something about solitude, driving a Porsche with no particular place to go and feeling the visceral experience stroking your soul...

Just above Stinson Beach? I can understand why you'd take advantage of the moonlight, as it happens so infrequently around there, but do you also go out in the middle of the night in the fog? With the weather clear like that there must not have much of a marine layer.
Tcc1999 - Yes, I definitely get out there when the fog is in too. It turns out that a lot of times when it would appear to be totally socked in with fog, that it's actually clear out at the coast. In fact, I would say most times that seems to be the case. If it's not totally clear, I find that I'm blasting through misty clouds here and there, which is gorgeous at night.

but at night, with the moon and stars peeking through. It's beautiful like this but so much fun I can't bring myself to stop and set up the camera to take pix at night most times.
Here's a photo of the marine layer on a clear night. (Same night)

Thanks for the compliments on the photos -
Here's a couple more just to add some flavor to all this READING.
