Help! Rattling Noise!

I have a 2006 c2s. 51k. This morning check engine light came on a few seconds later the car would rattle and sputter in 1st or 2nd gear.the only issue ive notice is leaking antifreeze under driver rear but i thought that was the crack in the tank and I've always kept it topped off. Any idea what this might be? Any mobile mechanics in the Portland Oregon area?

would it hold idle? my guess is spark/coil or the infamous MAF. first and easiest thing to do is, when symptom occurs again, unplug the MAF. then see if symptom still there. if not, MAF is to blame.

otherwise take it to a pep boys or somewhere that can read your faults/codes then report back here for more exact diagnosis.

double check that the gas cap is on tight. Though I am not sure if it's loose it would result in rough idle...

define "ripped". you're def in the ballpark with what shops charge (esp including a fuel pump...are you sure the $1k includes that??) but can you DIY for less? yep.

in any case, i suggest you get the actual codes just to make sure the shop is playing it straight with you and not "recommending additional work" etc.

As for the fuel filter, has anyone replaced it as a DIY?

Supposedly it's inside the gas tank.
