Fabspeed intake installed

Installed Fabspeed intake on my 997.2 C4S cabrio! Impressions:
-No noticeable power increase per the butt dyno, but no decreased HP/TQ either, as some are concerned about intake temperature.
-Intake sound is fantastic, especially under hard acceleration! And this is with non-sport stock exhaust. Addicting sound..
-Installation was easy. The hardest part was taking out the stock Porsche airbox. My car is under warranty so it will be an easy swap back for service to avoid any hassles.

Nice looking piece and substantially cheaper than the X51 box.
Did you have to cut out the deck lid?

What did you do to the hoses installed on the factory box?

Thanks.

Might have to look into it. It's nice eye candy. If better sound, then it's bonus. Not expecting any HP gains.

Just disconnected hose and removed it with stock airbox.

Fabspeed claims they checked intake temperature at the plenum and it's no different from stock airbox.

That is why I went with just the cold air kit from Fabspeed, and a BMC filter.Air is colder in the stock box then the exposed cone filters, plus the dirt element factor.

In the off-road world I would totally disagree when it is not a true 'CAI'... off-roading is where the most dirt is ingested and it still happens on the road! It doesn't mean squat at the plenum when your ingesting dirt!

Agree, not a true CAI. Not planning on off-roading this car any time soon though..

I understand that...your profile does not state where you live.Exposed air filters like that will present a risk off-roading or not! Not worth that possible expense IMHO...

Not trying to be a jerk but an honest question. If the plenum air temps do not change, where is the extra power coming from? I would hope for a drop in temp.
