Central NC "P" safe roads/destinations

Hello All,

New guy here, new year (happy to you), first P car (new to me) with a destination question. I live in central NC and am looking for a Porsche friendly road and lunch destination (restaurant, snack place, or similar) with an open and safe parking lot in my area (Burlington/Greensboro/Mebane/Hillsborough, etc.?). Looking for a one or two hour Sunday drive this weekend. It's supposed to be nice weather and I need to warm up the car. I'm still in the panic stage when I have to park her and walk away (out of sight). Any suggestions would be appreciated! Regards.

Not sure exactly where you are but Southern Pines and Pinehurst have several good resturants of almost any cusine. The roads are good and I have never had an issue parking, although I pick carefully and am ready to make the long walk from the back of the parking lot to the front door. US1 and 15/501 can get crowded but the traffic moves along. The drive here should satisfy a 2 hour need for (some) speed. A good Google Map study should identify the best route.

Take the back roads up to Danville, VA. Take NC 119 or 150 to pick up NC86 and that used to be a nice ride.

I live in the Southern Pines area. It is great for a day trip. If you chance, Ft Bragg is right next door. The back roads are long and have great curves. On the weekends there is no one out there. On the off chance there might be an MP but it is rare. The only issue is the potholes to avoid.

I'm in Greensboro too. The roads to Hanging Rock area are nice. Little Switzerland is really special too.

THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY is the best.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look forward to trying them all. This Sunday turned out to be a "bust" after watching the Carolina loss to SF. Maybe next weekend!

Regards.
