How much should a Spring installation cost in Los Angeles?

I got a quote to instal my Eibach springs (just springs) on my 997S for $1100.00 bucks. That is just labor and Alignment. Seemed really high to me. Any info or suggestions? Thanks!

Chances are you can do this work yourself. Some tools will be required, but the install of the springs is not the hard part. I did my own H&R springs install then took the car to my dealership for alignment. They fixed what I could not. Cost of springs plus $200 alignment. Saved major coin DYI. Took about six hours doing springs, worth the savings and I learned a thing or two.

I had HR springs installed a few months ago. It was 3-4hr labor and I paid $350 for the install plus another $150 for alignment. I had it done by Coastline Motors in Woodland Hills. But since you are in OC, try contacting Chris Sterling @ (949)727-1900. Very honest guy and he knows Porsches inside out.

Hi Romysc4s. I am actually currently in LA 20 miles south of Woodland Hills. Who should I ask for at Coastline Motors? Jesse? Should I just say Romy referred me? Thanks for the info!

I installed my own Eibach springs on base 997. 4 hours with the help of my son. So , I would estimate $500 for labor.

A good reputable shop shouldn't charge any more than 800 for a spring install unless they're really trying to rake some cash in. The difference here is that they quoted you an alignment as well.

I paid very little to have my springs done because my friend put them in but my alignment was another F'n story. In other words, if you're being told 1,100 and it's 800 for springs and 300 for alignment, then its not a HORRIBLE deal, it's just not a "hook-up" price.

I'd say no more than $500. It's a 3 - 4 hour job for myself on the floor in my garage, so I'd imagine it would be even faster with a lift + a helper. Porsche shop rate ranges between 100 - 120/hr. Alignment is another $100.

I did the work myself on my c2s.. I did remove the struts with oem springs in place and had a shop use their machine to loosen the strut mounts and then install the new springs.

I would highly recommend doing that if you tackle the diy project. you do not want to be messing around with a spring compressor as its dangerous

remove all four struts and take them to a shop. I paid $65 - well worth it!

if you do not have the time and value your weekends then pay an indy no more than $600 .. bare in mind you will need a full alignment after the work is done. I recommend leaving the car for a day to settle before you take in for alignment.

Good choice with the eibach.. only springs that are better are the RUF but there are very expensive. the H&R's are not good. Techart do not lower the car adequately.
