Dirt inside lighted door sills?

Does anyone know how to remove a lighted door sill in order to clean out the dirt? I've taken a couple of pictures. Any advice would help.

I have the same problem. Was going to try to figure it out when my car came out of hibernation.

Any input from others would be fantastic as it drives me nuts looking at it.

Aren't they held on to the existing door sills by double sided tape?

I have no idea. That's why I'm asking the experts. Hasn't anyone else besides joee76 had this problem or are the two of us just abnormal?

Did anyone figure this out

Longshot here since this thread has been dead for nearly a decade but is there a way to clean without removing? Thanks

Hi,

No they are sticked with doubele sided tape or some adhesive

Heat it and then start to remove it from one side

Did that take off the paint?

Looks like chunks of paint came off?
