Dension Woking -- SmartTop Not

First post for me...really enjoying the 997 forum and have gotten a lot of helpful tips from so many different members. Just bought 2007 C4S, low miles (18k), perfect PPI. My first P-car....Absolutely loving it!

My first mod was the SmartTop module, which was working great since installed several weeks ago....Finished installing the Dension BT 500S this afternoon, which seemed to go well and appears to be working properly. Now the SmartTop system isn`t responding at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can't imagine what one has to do with the other. Double check that the Smart Top module is firmly installed and the velcro strap that holds it in is tight. Beyond that, you could uninstall the ST, drive the car bit and the reinstall it. Might need a reboot after the Densioon install.

I got it going! Somehow, the Function 1 (Master Switch) got turned off while installing the Dension.

Thanks for the help Dadio!

The function switch on the Dension unit ? While on that subject, how do you like the Dension and, if you have one, can you use your 6 disc CD changer and the still have the blue tooth active for the phone without having to flip a switch ?

Sorry, I was referring to the SmartTop unit that has Function 1 as the Master Switch. Love the Dension BT 500S! IMHO, it works great for playing and controlling your Ipod. I like to shuffle my entire library, and you can bring up the listing of songs and the order in which they will be played while in Shuffle. I know from reading other posts that it sorts as well by artist. I haven't really gotten too far into the various other ways of playing music. I just tried what you are asking. Yes, I have the CDC, but this does disable it. There is a bypass switch on the Dension which is supposed to return the system to factory operation. I set to Bypass, but I could not get the CDC to play. In fact, after the startup PORSCHE screen, it would just go black. Once it did start to play from AM/FM, but by the time I tried to push the CD button, it went black. The single CD does still work well with the Dension operational, and the Bluetooth phone works well with the single CD operational.

Thanks, that's what I suspected. I'd really like to have the BT functionality but don't want to miss a call when the CDC is playing. Will research other options for the BT.
