Ok well this confusing, apparently the induction hoses are different between 3.6 & 3.8L engines, no idea why as throttle body and airbox are same.

Plus to confuse you even more, Fabspeed sell the one hose for all 997's, does not differentiate between S and non S models....

EDIT;

Might just stick on a small breather filter on the end of the breather hose instead of trying to mod it to the intake hose, does it matter if the tiptronic breather hose sucks in hot air?

I have a dyno at my disposal (Mustang 1100). I didn't expect the results I got as I stated, but the gains were there. I am also not affiliated with Fabspeed in any way just sharing my results.

Given the restrictive design of the factory intake and filters coupled with heavy regulation in certain states, I now see why the cars respond the way they do.

FWIW I have the Fabspeed intake and cannot notice any difference. The kit was a pain to install, wrong size fittings, used parts, etc, and the pretty carbon fiber tube rubs on the cooling fan to the point that I had to remove some of the protective shroud on the fan to be able to close the lid.

However, unlike the K&N intake I can't notice any harm to performance. The K&N killed low end torque.

I couldn't notice any difference with the IDP plenum either. The EVOMsit tune made a difference and definitely helped with the lower end and makes power smoother through the rpm range.

I get the feeling your talking about something else, Im talking about replacing the hose from the airbox to the throttle body only.

Update - I have ordered a air intake tube from RAMAIR (SFS) best price I could find.

Only issue is I have to mod it to fit the tiptronic breather hose, I have purchased some silicone tubing to fit snug over the tip breather, will cut 2 inches of this off and stick it in a hole that I will drill on the side of the intake hose, then seal up with a high heat tape, some fibreglass adhesive mesh and finally a silicone putty. Should look pretty good once done.

Suggesting one can "feel" the difference of 10-20rwhp increase on a 3K + pound vehicle is baffling to me. Hence why I dyno my rides before and after.

im sure more cooler air is a plus, maybe around 5-10 HP which may not be noticeable, Im doing this mainly for the sound to cap off the resonator. Any extra HP is just a bonus.

I'm really not sure you are going to see any cooler air. The air flow rate through the intake is pretty high and I don't see a silicon tube making much difference to temp.

With the dual Fabspeed filters open to the engine bay, contrary to what you may think, the intake temp is actually the same as the ambient temp once you are up to any reasonable speed. The volume of air been sucked through the intake is more than enough to keep it cool.

FWIW Before I changed the complete intake I blocked off the resonator with a oil bottle cap and I would be hard pressed to say there was any difference at all in the sound.

Just be aware that when you change the tune you are remapping the throttle. Any seat of the pants "gains" can be attributed to different tipin as with sports throttle. If you like it better great but more lower end? Well.....
