How long to install a Porsche Sports Exhaust plus button?

How many hours did the shop charge you to install a Porsche Sport Exhaust including wiring the button?

Please only reply if you had a Porsche Sports Exhaust installed on a 997 -- I'm not interested in hearing how long it took for other brands to get installed as I want an accurate number of hours I know, picky picky

I'm getting it done at a dealership and I wanna make sure they don't overcharge me in terms how many hours they spent on it.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

I inquired about this at my dealership a few weeks ago. They told me the book number was 10 hours, but they would only charge me for 8 hours for a total installation charge of $1400. Yes, that's at $175 per hour. What a discount, huh? Jeez. This included time for the button install.

By the way, if you'd like to understand the installation, the 29 page TSB describing it is on Renntech.org here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...wnload&id=1545

Awesome! Thank you.

10h is what the dealership quoted me -- seems to be a good estimate. Looks like it's a big job.

Can't wait to hear the crackling and popping Love the SE sound.

The service manual says 600TU, which equals 10 hours. I couldn't believe it until I read the service manual and saw how much prep work needs to be done in the engine and interior.

Manual if you didn't donate to renntech:

Got the car back with the Sports Exhaust and it sounds epic. Really happy with it. I had it installed by Rusnak Porsche Pasadena for $4300 total.

Nice! I had it added to the 2013 981 S, so worth it (3k was the cost). Luckily the 997 I bought has the PSE option but I will want to have the sport design steering wheel retrofitted.

Mine had the sport design steering wheel with paddle shifters, but no SE

AHHH. Was down there for College and then worked down there for a couple years after but back in the Bay (where I grew up) for now. There are some great roads down there (out of LA traffic). Enjoy the 997 exhaust on the PCH!

600 TUs is 600 minutes. That'll be 10 hours.

It took them about 6 hours to install mine and the technician had another mechanic working with him and they had done this install on another car the week prior....seems like it is a bit of work. I am totally satisfied with my full factory PSE install.

$3000 for everything incl labor? The exhaust system itself is about $2600, unless it's cheaper for a 981S. Just curious how you got the exhaust and install for $3K?
