Fuel additives - opinions
Curious as to what opinions are out there on fuel additives, of course it sounds great the benefits but all that could just be marketing -

Unless the fuel you are buying is an inferior grade or of a very low octane number, you should not need to use these products. Most I suspect would be of use on the racetrack vice the open highway.
The only thing I might consider using is a quality fuel system cleaner (such as Techron) and just before a scheduled oil change.

Techron..... sometimes..... old, high mileage engine... new engine... never felt a difference.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, this additive is like you taking vitamins (or an oil change). You just don't get measurable tangible benefit --- it just does its benefits.
Just curious is it Techron 5000 you guys use? Is there only one type of Techron fuel additive?
Also with a 997.1 we don't have direct injection right? Is Techron still of any use in this engine?

And 99% of the time, I use Chevron gas (it has Techron in it).
