Need expert opinion on value of 2010 Carrera S
Seriously considering the purchase of a 2010 Carrera S Convertable with under 3k miles. (Midnight blue, sport chrono, PDK, 19" sport wheels, PCM nav, heated seats, bose preimium sound).
Asking price is $79,000.
Low miles = high price? Would appreciate feedback as I am new the 911 world.

I just bought a 2010 Carrera S Cabrio with 27k miles. Manual, PSE, Navigation, Bose, Bluetooth, heated seats + steering wheel and custom interior for $55k if that helps you compare apples any.
That's a smoking deal. Private seller and no warranty?
I went to offleaseonly.com out of West Palm Beach. Their MO apparently is that they buy cars at auction and mark them up only $2500 or so. Then do fixed pricing. They're said to be the highest volume dealer in Florida. I believe it based on what I saw. Was able to take the car to a Porsche specialist nearby to get it checked out, and it's still got 9 months of factory warranty left. Couldn't be happier.
Check out their website. They've got some killer deals on cars.

Hi OP.... I was looking at a 10 car at this time last year exactly 1 year ago...
pretty basic car... nav, heated seats/cool seats, sport wheels, sports chrono and that's it.
they wanted 71K. It was off lease....3K miles. I passed. the price your getting quoted is brutally high... please pass on it or negotiate it down in the mid 60's where it should be on a dealer lot.

I don't think that price is that high. I would offer 73 or 74 .
You're not going to get that car for 65,000. Mark my words, it's relatively loaded and the PDK cars always seem to be at a premium .
Especially if it was well maintained(preserved).
Good luck researching , if you can get a loaded 2010 911 for 65,000 (3000 miles) , pick me one up also.

Also, maybe it is based on geography , let me put it this way, you would not be able to get that car for 65,000 or less, here in the Chicago area , based on my experience .
I traded in an 08 911 S cab loaded with a tiptronic with 7,000 miles on it for 63,000 in 2013. And received 25,000 off the sticker on a 2012 4s cab loaded. (God, that was a great deal, the more I think about it)
Humor us , offer the guy 65,000 , then call me when he kicks you off his driveway. Lol. I'm kidding .
Good luck, the searching is half the fun, take your time.

Ultra low mileage adds much less to the value than one would think. Owners of cars with ultra low mileage think their cars are still new; therefore should command quite a premium. It's false logic which is not backed up by resources used to value cars. The car depreciates by MY and things like CPO add more value than low miles.
My experience with OffLeaseOnly is that most of the cars they sell have an accident reported which is why their cars are cheaper... not necessarily a bad thing always, but definitely a reason to mark down the price.
Agree with this, IMHO a deal around 70 is fair. Mid 60's would be smokin!

Off Lease was straightforward with everything with me and allowed me to get it inspected and tested anywhere I wanted before the purchase. Granted, I probably walked in as a much better informed buyer than average, so I can only talk about my experience, but I'll go back again. I figure I saved $12k or so on the car.
Not enough info. CPO? Sport Chrono? PCM? PASM? PSE? Full leather? Bose? Wheels? Sport seats? Options have a lot to do with the car's price and value.
Coupla items:
1 - Getting a car off lease from one these standard markup guys is a good thing and a way to not get drawn into "the options justify the price" BS. Auction information has nothing on options other than color, transmission, engine type, body style, condition, and a few more things. Nothing on SPASM or whatever. The auction market does not lie and does not care about options.... only the guy/gal selling you the car cares.
2 - Accident. So what.... I saved a ton when the carfax said "hit a wild animal" to me, that is no big deal as I keep cars for a long long time and virtually always do some body work in its lifetime. I got an indy inspection before purchase. No biggie to me. My C2S is my daily, all weather driver. I love it.
3 - If you are a "Porsche is a Faberge Egg" and are proud of how few miles you put on yours, then run from an off-lease car. You should look hard and find the perfect car for you and be proud you paid a huge amount of money for something so special.
Obviously, I have a very different attitude about cars. (Porsche is a car to me.)

Manheim report from when I did my research... Carrera Ss sold nationally for 1 months, around January 2013... not many cars.. .recession, dead of winter.... NO options.......
