This is the quirky solution for installing the aftermarket radio to work with the Bose amp. It really seems that the best solution is to pull the amp and replace it with a much better one for less than $600. Returning to stock would be possible, but once you pull the head unit, I rarely see anybody go back even if you sell the car. Just too much install costs to get the thing out.

version of result on photo, not mine but sure gives the idea.

Serg, obviously you've done a ton of work reverse engineering the Porsche audio system. I've read the .1 to .2 conversion, which is a total nightmare. This seems like child's play by comparison. That harness and plugs is a well done conversion. The real complexity is knowing which pins are which outputs. Such a harness would vastly simplify an aftermarket amp install. Someone could easily sell that wired $25 plug for $100 on the US market.

If anyone has their US version PCM with Bose pulled, please see if the pins highlighted by Serg exist on your PCM. If I remember correctly there was no pins on my PCM where that plug goes. (Which could explain why none of these aftermarket harnesses are available in the US.)

I replaced the head unit, amplifier, speakers and subwoofer with zero weight penalty. In fact I saved a couple of pounds. The only compromise is no nav gauge integration which I never used anyway.

I wish I did it earlier as the difference is extreme.

I'll provide details soon, but it can be done in a way that is completely reversible without permanent mods nor compromise.

Serg, I see on your head unit, the unit is made by Becker. Does it also say "Bose" on the system anywhere?

Peace,

You can use an Audison Prima line amp/dsp like AP8.9bit (3 years late)
