Hey Guys....Carrera GTS
Hey Guys....Carrera GTS
Hey all,
I'm looking for a Porsche, and I've decided that I want a C2 GTS. They have one for sale in the city over from me for $79,900. It has 35k miles on it, PDK, the 19 inch black RS wheels, and those are about the only options on it. Theres no sport chrono, and no premium sound. They also deleted the alcantara interior, if that makes a difference.
Do you think this is a fair price?
Thanks!

Not sure where your located but I just bought my Carrera yesterday and when I was searching all the Porsche dealerships in the Bay Area, I think the one in Livermore had a GTS . I'm not sure what they were asking though. You might want to give them a call or check their website

This car doesn't have sport chrono, which means no sport plus button. The more i read, the more I find sport chrono to be essential. Can any PDK owners comment on sport chronos functionality, and if they would/wouldn't have got their car with it?
thanks!
I think almost everyone with a PDK, including me, will tell you you have to have sport chrono - but it can be installed later and that might be a bargaining point if you're at a Porsche dealer.
PDK without Sport Chrono is a negative. I bought a GTS without Sport Chrono but less important to me since I have manual transmission.

I was under the obviously wrong assumption that all GTSs came with sports chrono standard. Isn't the gist of the GTS that you get all of the performance features for less $ than if you'd gone with an S and ticked all the equivalent options? Seems I've missed the point of the GTS trim level somewhere.

Definitely a negotiation factor on the price for you (but I'd add immediately)
I thought for sure sport Chrono was a no cost GTS option, just like the Alcantara seating. Pdk without it means no launch control. Even if you don't use it, resale will be seriously impaired. You can't add it later. Car is a toad and will sit on the lot for a while or will go very cheap. I think it's silly to have such a car with center locks yet no sport Chrono. Higher maintenence with lower performance.
Thanks for all the replies guys!
When I purchased my 2012 GTS, I searched nationally for the right car. Ended up purchasing a certified used from a Porsche dealer in the South, and shipped it to NorCal. Got a great deal, great car, and couldn't be more pleased. With a car like the GTS, you will have much more luck if you broaden your search to outside your local area. Just make sure you get a PPI prior to purchase, and spend a few hundred bucks to inspect it personally if you feel the need. Good luck with your search.
