997.2 Header Options?

Currently have PSE and Fabspeed X pipe installed. Considering some 200 cell headers/cats. What's available out there? I know Fabspeed has some. Anyone else...anything NOT pushing $3000?

All I've seen is the cat/header combo like the stock setup or the headers that eliminate the cats altogether. The later is cheaper, but even with the O2 sensor adapters installed I think you will eventually trip a check engine light. the legal headers will push at least $2500.

I don't know if the HP gain is worth the cost.

Check with Rhonda @ FVD. I believe M&M makes a good Headers/Cats combo for the 997.2. M&M makes exhaust systems for Porsche Motorsports. Irregardless, you will need to do a remap of your ECU to maximize the mods.

Thanks. Ya thinking more sound, some performance, probably a tune. We don't have inspections in KS so I could just run race headers. $2500 I agree is too much and I probably wouldn't do that. But if I could find some take offs or something cheaper it might be fun to mess with.

Porsche OEM X51 headers new are under $1200, even less used if you can find them. NHP makes a really nice clone of the X51 headers too. It's a real nice upgrade from stock headers, especially with 200 cell cats and a tune. Of course this assumes your car did not come from the factory with the X51 power option.

My bad, missed the .2 part. PET diagrams show the cats and headers are one piece for a .2 vehicle. Perhaps this is why they are so expensive.

I've been looking at headers for my .2 as well. As you saying FVD headers are made by M&M? 3 different options on their website, 100 cell, 200 cell and 200 cell HD. Anyone has experience with any of the options?
