997 gt3 k&n cai on 997s gt3 wing
Correct, not an OEM GT2 wing. Mine is hollow on the inside. Just cut a hole for the stock box. I guess if I wanted to go crazy I could cover it back with a plate and open the other 2 for a crazy air box. But the cost for the airbox did not in my opinion give good returns.
I have played with K&N filters on my Dodge 2500 diesel and it had worse flow than the stock paper pleated filter. Would set off the pop out pressure sensor for time to change the filter. The paper element would never do that even if it was dirty.
I had the BMC on this car and changed back to stock paper. Could not tell a difference. Some people love them though and say they could totally tell.
I was reading on a forum where someone that had their car on the dyno taped off half the paper filter and the horsepower on the next run did not change. So, they taped more off until they got down to 1/8 or less before they it changed the Horsepower.
After my experience with the my truck I am not convinced these aftermarket filters flow better. Although my filter is sort of being force fed.
