Gold wheels?

I recently bought an '06 CS, slate gray/black. My first Porsche and I'm officially obsessed. Although gold doesn't traditionally "match" with gray, I first noticed how much I liked the gold emblem on my hood against the gray. Now, I tend to have conservative tastes, and have been looking at all the Fuchs & Fuchs-like options; but, then I saw this photo of a Ferrari and wondered what gold wheels would look like on my car. I don't want blingy and I don't want boy-racer. I'm kinda thinking Fuchs look with black centers and gold rims. Any thoughts or photos?

if I was a wheel *****, id likely have a gold set for my slate grey 4S.
being a bit more conservative myself, ive only got body colored sport wheels, and some 5 spoke silver sport technos.

im looking for that edgy wheel to throw on when I feel like it.

IMO, gold looks great IF applied in a subtle manner (ala accent). I consider gold in the same family as chrome -- too much and it becomes too noisy. But taste is subjective and personal so buy what you want.

IIRC, blingy initially came from TOO MUCH GOLD.

I like the black/gold!...it tones down the gold to an accent.

For my tastes, I agree. I guess I just want a subtle & different look. Without making it scream.

Just bought an 06 C in Slate Gray paint. I love my car, I've been thinking black wheels, but gold would look great too.

the Ferrari in the pic looks great !

I think gold wheels on ur car might work just as well. Prob need to find the right tone of gold and style.

not sure about the black/gold fuchs style tho.. but best to try it on photoshop

I'm thinking something with black & gold...kinda like these...but in 19"?? But I can't find any photo examples of a 997, slate gray with this color wheel combo.

Magnus did a gold/black RSR interpretation in his new wheel line.

Maybe my imagination is working overtime? lol!

I have been looking at black wheels too. Had a silver CTS-V with black HRE's. Just wondering about something different.

You are dead right about the right tone of gold.

Gold looks best on white cars, it's okay on black and red. Don't think it'll look good with gray. IMO.

The gold would look good with dark colors.

On the Fuchs, the minimum I would do would be the outermost lip. IMO, the Fuchs with gold petals would become 2-tone once the car is in motion. Again, this is a personal preference.
