I've decided to get the Fister exhaust and I want to get new tips. I think I might eventually run a diff exhuast system down the road so I dont want to break the bank on tips right now. Anyone have any ideas or leads on decently priced tips that fit a 997.2 C2?
I just painted my tips with hi heat engine paint to change the look. I did flat black to go with my black and silver theme turned out great and only about 1 hr of time and $7 for the paint.
However here's bunch listed on ebay lots of designs and choices. Some are expensive but others are reasonable. Personally I like the look of the Angency power dual ovals that merge together. They are listed about half way down for $500.
See this link from 2012 looks like you need to get an adapter to make them fit. FVD sells one according to the link. You might find other sources for the adapter as well.
I do like those tips and and will look great with your black pcar.
Also you mentioned the fister exhaust. I just did my car about a month ago. Darin was excellent to work with had the new cans quickly and it sounds amazing. Best money I have spent on my car by far. No need for the exhaust upgrades unless you are looking for more power. Also if you plan on swapping yourself do yourself a favor and remove the rear bumper cover. It only takes about 10-15mins to get it off and makes the job so much more pleasant.
Thanks but I dont have that black anymore. I had the fabspeed set up with that car. I have a white 997.2 now, completely stock but working on changing that asap.
Decent tips are crazy expensive. I found that out recently after discovering that the left side of my stock dual exhaust tips were MIA. Wow, the car really looked awful like that. I did some obsessive shopping, since I couldn't believe the prices, even though I thought I was immune to sticker shock from Porsche parts. The best I found were from Schnell. They were black chrome, well made, and just a bit over $300. Plus, they were guaranteed to add 25 hp. Okay, maybe not, but they look very good.

Fabspeed is ready when you are, feel free to come up for the install and check out the facility as well!!
I installed Schnell polished quad tips on my 997 TT and I have subsequently removed them and gone back to stock tips. The polished tips were impossible to keep clean. They oxidized and became so dirty that I hated them. I'm happy to be back to stock.
I've seen many reports online of aftermarket tips discoloring or oxidizing. These reports span a large number of manufacturers. At this point, I haven't seen one that I would be comfortable installing on my 997.

Mine were black chrome, not polished SS. After six moths, they still look new. They've consistently stayed cleaner than my stock tips ever did.
