I guess I will join the fray as a new owner of a 997.2. But first, thanks to everyone for all of the info being provided through this forum - it has been very helpful.
Here are some of the particulars:
PDK, Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono, PASM, some interior paint in external color (vents, center console, cup holder trim, around instrument cluster), full leather, several interior lighting options, 21,600 MI, and a fire extinguisher.
I have one question I'd like to hear some opinions about. Is there any issue with regard to having protective film installed on a used vehicles? While this car is remarkably chip free there are a few plus some minor blemishes on the bumper. Will these be more pronounced or visible after having the clear bra installed?
Congratulations; the car looks gorgeous! The existing blemishes will not be pronounced however they won't magically disappear, either. I recommend finding a trusted detailer who can do as much paint correction/touch-up (if needed) as possible before applying the clear film. I've yet to do it to my 911 but my previous car (Subaru BRZ) received RoadBlock film on the entire nose of the car, and the mirrors. It's a must-have if you'll be doing any highway driving at all.
congrats on the car, looks amazing with some of the best options.
agreed with above, if you want PERFECT you would have to respray; otherwise i would patiently try dr colorchip or some other (as flawless as possible) solution on the small chips before wrapping in 3M.
Before you proceed to doing 3M on your bumper. I really don't know the cost in the US between wrapping your bumper and having it repainted. My Porsche body shop adviced me that it's cheaper to repaint the whole bumper than to 3M it. Just a thought.
I had a bikini mask done on half the hood and front fenders for about $800. If the nicks are bad, you might get a slight bubble, but probably not. Just get a basic pre cut mask. Worth the money and no issues putting it on a clean used car. Did it several times.
I vote respray and bra entire hood, fenders, bumper. Esp, if you winter drive the car, or daily it in all road conditions. I used to care about a paintwork free car, but a few years ago, I finally realized it is just a car, not an investment, and meant to be driven, and be fun too.
Congrats on a great looking pickup!
EDIT: I didn't read THE ENTIRE post OP. I would have a good detailer like others have mentioned buff out the bumper, then clear bra it. The cler bras actually have their own clear coat on them, which, yes, will help cover the blems better. The new 3M clear bra which just came out not long ago, absolutely smokes all other companies out there in terms of minimal orange peel, overall appearance, toughness, etc. Xpel would be my second choice.
If your blems are just in the clear, compounds and/or wet sand paper can easily mask enough of the blem to cover up with the bra.
Luck!

You may also want to consider protecting the headlights and DRL's. I posted a DIY review here of the Lamin X install for headlights:
