Lowering springs and alignment, labor charge.

2009 C2s

Local shop quoted me $960. To install my lowering springs with alignment.
Told me it's a 9 hour job with alignment.

Is this a good price?
Alignment portion of the total price is $225.

Anyone have this done before, if so what were you charged.
Thanks

I'm showing 3.4-4.4 hours for the front, and as much as 4.2 for the rear, not including the alignment.

Sound about right, the indy shop i use charged 200.00 for alignment and 600 for springs job. They done lot of work for my car, very reasonable price.

I paid a similar amount but my install also included installation of new front and rear sway bars and drop links.

Wait I don't understand how it would involve anything close to 9 hours of labor.

My dealer charged me about an hour for each corner for the last one I had done, not including alignment.

I think I will have it done this week since the price seems fair.

Can other types of auto repair or tire and chassis shops do this project or is it best to stick with an experienced Porsche specialty shop

I would personally take it to an experienced Indy that works on Porsche's regularly, not just any shop!

I paid ~500 labor for springs only at an indy. The dealer quoted me nearly double.

Wow $500 is cheap

I got a quote for an alignment at bell tire for $89.00 is there something missing at that price?

A good alignment makes a huge difference to car handling. The standard numbers from a street corner tire shop is fairly vague and don't necessarily flatter the car that was designed for. A precision alignment can make even a standard 997 much more fun to drive. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

The alignment job on my truck cost that much...i wouldn't take a Porsche to unknown shop just because the price is low.

just my $.02
